The Perfect 3-day Itinerary to San Juan For Art Lovers

San Juan, Puerto Rico, is a vibrant city rich in culture, history, and creativity. For art lovers, there’s a perfect blend of contemporary art, historic sites, and local craftsmanship to explore. Here's a 3-day itinerary designed for art fanatics like you:

Day One

TOP OF THE MORNING:

AFTERNOON/EVENING:

After the museum, take a relaxing stroll through Parque de las Palomas in Old San Juan. While it’s not strictly an art destination, the views and atmosphere are full of creative inspiration. On most days it’s filled with local artisans and their stalls set up along the street selling handmade crafts, jewelry, clothing, and art. It's a great opportunity to buy unique, locally crafted souvenirs and to support Puerto Rican artists. Don’t forget to watch the sunset at the Paseo de la Princesa. TO CULMINATE THE EVENING:

Get ready to dance and enjoy the cultural music locals have to offer. Throughout the weekend, there are performances by dancers, musicians, and cultural groups all around town. The focus is often on celebrating Puerto Rican traditions, like bomba and plena but the event has become an inclusive mix of modern and traditional art forms -most of which can be found in La Placita. Day Three

MEDIO DIA:

Head back to Somos Hotel to relax from the energizing morning. Enjoy the cultural feel of the tropical island- maybe take a power nap. Later, help yourself to the amenities for a lazy day in or get ready and take a trip to “Estudio de Arte Samuel Lind”, where you’ll find the amazing paintings and sculptures of Mr. Lind. You may find him working on his projects. 

POR LA TARDE:

On your drive back you HAVE to pass through the culturally filled street of “Pinones”. Here you can try the famous street foods that all Puertoricans live by: Bacalaitos, Alcapurrias, Pinchos to name a few. You can also cross the street to the beach and soak in the sun while sipping on a delicious Pina Colada.

BUENAS NOCHES!:

This is a great time to visit Centro de Bellas Artes Luis A. Ferre and enjoy different presentations from our local artists. Presentations range from comedy to Jazz concerts, unique shows you won’t catch anywhere else. Last but not least, have some late dinner and a drink at Roofyard. Sit outside for a backyard-feel experience or inside for a more cozy and intimate setting. Be mesmerized by all the mural art on the walls which go so well with the amazing decor.
